Events help to support

Fun, entertainment and lots of money....

Memorial path opening day with Jenny Rose-Wolfeld's children Jamie, Lucy and Prudence closely followed by husband Jan. Friends, relatives, medical experts and others who have contributed towards the achievements so far take up the support roles in the background.

What about me... or rather its birth was preceded by about nine months of fund raising activity which allowed us to form a solid foundation to build upon.

The local community in and around North Gorley, near Fordingbridge, Hampshire who wanted to help remember Jenny Rose-Wolfeld rallied round and performed wonders.

First up was a Skittles Evening in February 2001. A humble beginning but a good sign of more to come.

Indeed the evening of June 1st 2001 was an extremely auspicious occasion and one which all who witnessed it will remember for a long time. The Auction of Goods, Promises and Services saw a marvellous range of items and activities on offer. A Boeing 747 flight simulator experience, a genuine Lee Enfield rifle from WWII, fine food and drink, quality outdoor clothing and even a mini-European holiday were among the items auctioned. The money helped to build a
memorial footpath at the Salisbury Hospice at Salisbury District Hospital which now allows easy access to the garden grounds.

The providers of these auction items and others who have given towards the Foundation are shown in our sponsor list and we hope to call on their help in future. We of course thank them for their support and for understanding and appreciating what our aims are.

On the 14th December 2001, a packed Royal Oak at North Gorley saw another amazing turn out where more money was raised for our funds. The Traditional Christmas Evening included children from the local Hyde Primary School singing part of their Nativity Service, carols were sung, a children's entertainer kept the younger audience occupied and Hyde Band and other local musicians helped create a very welcome and warm atmosphere on a bitterly cold evening. The pub's chef was kept busy providing food for the buffet meal and the bar staff were also very active all evening.

The 13th April 2002 was the date of a magnificent Cabaret held in Salisbury Arts Centre. The ten strong choral group Applause gave a magnificent rendition of number of classic and modern songs to an audience of 300.

On the 11th July 2003, 500 people attended our first Summer Ball in the grounds of Moyles Court School near Ringwood. For all who danced and made merry until the very end - the evening was full of entertainment and fun. The sum raised was nearly £5000.

Of course we are very grateful for the kind permmission of the Head Master and for the assistance of other staff at the School in making the event so successful. We do hope that we can repeat that success soon.

In 2005 we decided to convert the What-About-Me charity's role to one of advise and to provide a point of reference to Keith Mason's own practice. This was mainly because of costs and lack of available funds to cover treatment costs.
